Hey Bill!

Inspired by what I've read at Christine Kane's blog during December 2008 I have chosen to live with the word "Congruence" for 2009.

The idea is to live intentionally with a word for a year. Blog about it, journal it, write songs about it... in short to let the word "seep" into yourself and study you.

I like that a lot. Christine's blog - http://christinekane.com/blog/ - suggests a list of words, but I have been beneficiently haunted by the word "congruence" for a few weeks now and I figured I would weave that into my writing life.

So, I have committed to live with "congruence" and find its meaning for my life, my relationships, my songwriting, my faith, my family.

Thanks for your Facebook posting of your blog.

Best for 2009!

In the bond,

Bill, Please let folks know that we have some great resources to help people find their next career position. With the economy being what it is, people need to stop taking the easy route and start living their lives authentically and intentionally. This is the time for everyone to be a "free agent" with their own personal brand plan.

john. the problem with changing what you spend capital funds on is that it makes it harder the next time around to raise money for a capital project. I woul hold off doing that as long as I could

Hi Bill,

Thanks for this insight. As a board last night we discussed the legalities of what we would have to do to release capital campaign funds for community compassion needs, especially if things slide into a full blown depression. For sure we would have an all church...those who pledged...meeting first.

We are discussing forgoing a facility...again...which has hurt our momentum...in order to make sure we extend our mission in times like these.

What do you think?

Funny, we have communicated by email, cell phone, your discussion group, facebook and now twitter. Love technology.

On one hand, I agree with you. On the other, I think that many words become "buzzwords" because of their importance, thus justify some of the attention given to better define and even protect them. After all, if words cease to have meaning, we are in a very dangerous place. Just a thought.

Peace,
Jamie

I realize that these words can have the possibility of having some confusion as different people and groups use them differently, however, they are descriptive and thus can help us understand one another. After all, would we also want to drop the other buzz words? - evangelical, charismatic, protestant, or orthodox. Or how about right wing/ left wing, conservative/ liberal, or modern/ post-modern? Should we drop them all? Or should we work at coming up with some standard definitions?

I'm tired of buzzwords too, though have to admit the 'missional' buzzword grabbed me for a time. I had it in my blog sub-title, but have recently got rid of it.
